Casa del Viento is perched atop cliffs overlooking a vast canyon of the northern Sierra Nevada foothills. Wildlife abounds here, both predator and prey, and their daily treks through life bring them to the ridge-top.
These visitors of the wild include Black-Tail Deer, Mountain Lion, Western Diamond-Back Rattle Snake, Raccoon, Possum, Coyote, Bobcat, Turkey, Road Runner, Bald Eagle, Scorpion, and a plethora of migratory and territorial animals that call this place, as we do, home.
Though many are elusive in their travels, we have been fortunate to capture a few of our visitors on film
- WILD TURKEY
- RESIDENTS of CDV. We’ve named them MAMA DOE and CHIP & DALE. They live on the grounds and drink daily from our fountain near the vineyard. We hope to be hand feeding them soon
- BUCK IN THE VINEYARD after harvest.
- BOBCAT PROWLING THE PROPERTY
- BLACK TAIL BUCK IN AUTUMN
